Anderson’s expanded to Barrington in 2011 and has been a staple in the community ever since. What types of events does your shop cater? We cater a variety of special occasions including weddings, wedding showers, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, banquets, and more.
How do people use your products to make their events more memorable? Many of our clients chose our two- and four-piece favor boxes. Some clients use them as a special treat at table settings, others include them in thank-you or swag bag offerings. Also popular are our solid chocolate molded items. We match the client’s theme with a solid chocolate item. For example, if a bride and groom are avid travelers we might make them chocolate airplanes and globes for their guests as a treat during their wedding reception. Platters filled with chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, or salted caramels are also frequent favorites for showers or receptions.
What are some popular trends in chocolates and sweets? We have seen a rise in the popularity of salted caramels and dark chocolate in the past twelve months. Also, we’ve seen many clients choose individual treats for their guests–like individual chocolate boxes with messages or monograms attached–over the formerly popular dessert tables and dessert bars.
What are some of Anderson’s Candy Shop’s top selling products for events? Our two-piece boxes filled with a dark chocolate salted caramel and a white chocolate frosted mint meltaway fudge are by far the most popular event favor right now. Followed by our solid chocolate suckers customized to match the event—”it’s a boy/girl” for baby showers, for example.
