We hope you will remember Barrington’s White House in your year-end gift planning.
Barrington’s White House (BWH) has become our area’s premier Cultural and Community Center, hosting world-class concerts, performances, speakers, theater, and exhibits for the arts and humanities. Since opening our doors in 2015, over 20,000 people have attended more than 300 cultural and community events in the house. In 2019 alone, over 5,500 people attended over 70 cultural and community events.
BWH has also become a place for area non-profits to expand their mission through strategic events; fundraisers, annual meetings, major donor cultivation events, and training and educational events. In collaboration with a grant from the Barrington Area Community Foundation (BACF) we have hosted over 32 non-profit events (1779 attendees) in 2019.
We are able to do what we do with the help of over 55 volunteers, who staff our boards, cultural events, open houses, help us write our grants and decorate the house for the holidays. Quite literally we couldn’t do it without them. This year BWH was recognized for Best of Use Volunteers by the BACF.
This year for the second year in a row, we received a $50,000 Challenge Grant from the Willow Springs Charitable Trust, a foundation that supports arts and culture non-profits in our region. They made this challenge in the hopes of inspiring broad support from the community.
We hope you are inspired by all the things that are going on at Barrington’s White House and will consider making a year-end gift! All gifts are greatly appreciated and can be given in honor or memory of someone special. To find out more about what we do, visit our website FriendsofBWH.org
