With a group of amazing hair and makeup artists, Salon and Spa 530 has made a splash in the Barrington beauty industry the last few years. Their gorgeous bridal styles have been featured here at Barrington’s White House for a styled shoot, and they’d love to help make more brides beautiful on their special day at our House.
How long have you served the Barrington area?
A lot of our stylist have been in the Barrington area for many years. Salon and Spa 530 opened its doors in Barrington three years ago.
What’s the best part about styling hair and makeup for weddings?
Helping people to look and feel beautiful is a big part of it. We consider it an honor to be a part of people’s special day! We get to see all the special moments that go on behind the scenes
What’s trending right now in bridal styles? 
We are seeing a lot of rough textured styles and more of an undone kind of look.
What is the best part about styling on-site at a venue like Barrington’s White House?
The Bridal room there is unbelievably elegant and beautiful. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the planning of that room to make it not just nice, but to be functional. Plus, the lighting is amazing for makeup, which is always a big bonus.
What can clients expect at a bridal consultation before their event and on the wedding day?
Our Bridal Coordinator will meet with you or, for you convenience, she can handle things via email. We will provide you with a written quote and work out all the details. Then we will have you sign a contract and put down a deposit to hold the date. We take care of the rest!
If you choose to come to the salon the day of your wedding, we provide champagne, mimosas and some light refreshments. Our goal is to have your day run as smoothly as possible so you can relax and enjoy!
Are there any tips or tricks to prepare for your wedding day?
First, make sure you have a trial run of hair with your headpiece/veil and makeup so you and your stylist have a plan. Also, wash and dry your hair the night or day before your event, not the day of. Freshly washed hair can be more difficult to style. Finally, have a little bag that someone is in charge of with hairpins, a mini bottle of hair spray, oil blotting strips, touch up powder and your lipstick.
What’s your best wedding story?
There are so many to choose from that it’s hard to pick just one! The most special moments really are when I have gotten to witness the little moments between a bride and her parents. The moment I place her veil on her head and her mom tears up, or the first time her dad gets to see her–those are the real and true moments that make us feel honored to be present.
