A fabulous opportunity to learn about the largest and most extensive museum of American art in the country comes to Barrington’s White House. Join us on October 14 from 3:00-5:00pm.
The Crystal Bridges Museum, located just a day’s drive away in northwest Arkansas, was founded by Alice Walton (daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton) and houses some of America’s most famous paintings. In this presentation you’ll gain insights into Walton’s collecting strategy and hear from noted art historian and professor Gayle Seymour, who will present a slide lecture with highlights from the esteemed museum’s permanent collection—some of the most recognized pieces in American history. Building an art museum from whole cloth is no simple feat, and Alice Walton’s collection of American art is, some say, simply the best.
There will be a reception with cash bar following the event.
The museum is a fabulous weekend experience just a day’s drive (or easy plane flight) away. Come learn about it at the White House, then plan your trip! Click here to view the museum’s web site. https://crystalbridges.org/
General admission is $15 and student admission is $10. Tickets are available here.
