The Chicago area’s newest and most elegant venue for wedding receptions and other events will begin accepting reservations and “holds” for 2016 on June 1, 2015. Barrington’s White House, located in the heart of downtown Barrington, Illinois, offers the charm and romance of an historic venue coupled with the latest in modern amenities.

The 1898 mansion’s third floor ballroom can host cocktail receptions of up to 175 guests, and seated receptions of 150. Weekend wedding parties will have the option to use the entire house, including a custom designed bridal room.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Barrington’s White House is currently undergoing a complete restoration and renovation to create an event venue and community center. The project incorporates a host of sustainable features, and will seek LEED Gold certification on completion.

The professionally decorated ballroom offers vintage charm with fresh, contemporary touches, including designer fabrics and a tasteful color palette accented with soft gold. “The ballroom as a wedding reception venue will be one of a kind, with vaulted uplit ceilings, crystal chandeliers, dramatic molding accents and sweeping village views,” said Kris Zeile, volunteer BWH coordinator.

The home’s location at 145 West Main Street and its classic architecture will be a major draw, according to Zeile. The spacious front porch is accented with slender fluted Corinthian pillars, and will have heating for cool weather. Local craftsman have painstakingly restored the grand staircase, stained glass windows and artisan-carved wood moldings. “Brides will love the many exceptional photo opportunities in, and outside the house,” Zeile noted.

The state of the art commercial kitchen was designed in consultation with professional caterers to provide everything necessary for exceptional food service to guests. Other amenities include ample workspace and a third floor plating station for ease of service. “The White House will have a list of preferred caterers who will offer a wide variety of price points and entertaining styles,” Zeile noted.

Reservations and “holds” will be available by email through the website starting June 1, on a first-come, first-served basis at www.barringtonswhitehouse.com. Tours and final details including floor plans, approved caterers, pricing and a resource list of local wedding-related service providers will be available in July.
