Barrington Flower Shop has been a staple business in the area for nearly three decades. Their beautiful products and attention to detail have made them one of the most well-respected florists in Barrington. We’re proud to partner with them on weddings and events at Barrington’s White House.
How long have you served the Barrington area?
We purchased my building at 201 South Cook Street in March of 1988. We officially opened Barrington Flower Shop June 25, 1988.
What’s the best part about providing flowers for weddings?
Interpreting a bride’s vision for her wedding day and creating it. It sounds easy enough until you take into consideration that the bride may like spring flowers, but is getting married in the fall. We have to know what flowers are available and when they can be shipped. Seeing the bride’s excitement as we pull it all together is well worth the hours of phone calls and meetings.
How does the venue influence the floral decorations?
Specialty venues like Barrington’s White House will usually dictate how we decorate. We have to take into consideration the colors of the room, the size of the room and what the room will be used for on the wedding day. Our personal preference in color and style for Barrington’s White House are whites and greens in an English garden style. It works very well with its décor.
What is your favorite part about working at Barrington’s White House?
Working at Barrington’s White House for parties and weddings is enjoyable because they are so accommodating and friendly.
What are some things people can do with their flowers after their event?
If the flower arrangements aren’t too large, we suggest bringing them to a hospice care facility or to senior care centers. We advise setting up the details before your event.
