A Night of Broadway at the Movies with William Powers and Michelle Areyzaga

June 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Dynamic vocalists William Powers and Michelle Areyzaga fill our ballroom with the glorious sounds of favorite Broadway movie show tunes!

What could be better than the sounds of Broadway at the movies! On this special summer evening, perennial Barrington’s White House favorites William Powers, bass-baritone, and Michelle Areyzaga, soprano, blend their consummate vocal talents to bring to life your favorite Broadway show tunes. The evening will feature selections from singing favorite selections from such memorable composers as Richard Rogers, John Kandor, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Lerner and Lowe and more — come hear some of your best loved songs from the Golden Age of Broadway and MGM!

William Powers is a native of Chicago who was taught and mentored by George London and Norman Treigle and made his New York City Opera debut in 1972. He has created many new roles in first performances and revivals, many of them rogues and villains.

Michelle Areyzaga has been praised for her “radiant and all-encompassing soprano” (Chicago Tribune) and as a “consummate vocal actress” (Fanfare). She is held in high regard throughout the United States and abroad for her “appealing, expressive soprano” (New York Times).

Join us before the concert at 6:00 p.m. for a reception as we express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Rollin Potter for his service and invaluable contributions to our cultural and community center. It’s an opportunity to reflect on his impact, the memories we’ve shared, and the legacy he started. Whether you can come for the reception and stay for the concert, or are only able to attend the reception, let’s raise a toast to Rollin and the extraordinary mark he has left on Barrington’s White House.

NOTE: This event is entirely in-person. No virtual tickets are available. Students under 18 are free with an adult ticket. If you are having trouble registering, please contact us at or 224-512-4066.
