We are excited to let you know that a very generous donor has stepped forward to underwrite part of the cost of the tickets for Barrington’s White House Season Opening Night Benefit Concert and Cocktail Party on Saturday, September 14, 2019 featuring the Lincoln Trio.
Our donor has made this offer in order to provide more opportunities for as many people as possible to experience cultural events at the White House.
Thanks to our donor’s generosity, tickets are now just $75 each or two for $150. This extraordinary event features a pre-concert elegant cocktail party sponsored by Barrington Bank & Trust on the veranda, followed by the the internationally renowned Lincoln Trio – we invite you to come in cocktail attire! Attendees will be treated to a full open bar, elegant hot hors d’oeuvres by Wild Asparagus, and dessert at intermission by Ambrosia European Patisserie. During the cocktail party, Jazz Du Jour will entertain our guests as a prelude to the main event.
About The Lincoln Trio
Described by STRAD Magazine as “Sensational” “Bewitching” and “Models of vibrancy and control” by GRAMOPHONE Magazine, the celebrated GRAMMY nominated Chicago-based Lincoln Trio—made up of Desirée Ruhstrat, violin, David Cunliffe, cello, and Marta Aznavoorian, piano—takes its name from their home, the heartland of the United States, the land of Lincoln.
Formed in 2003, the trio has been praised for its polished presentations of well-known chamber works and its ability to forge new paths with contemporary repertoire.
The Lincoln Trio has performed throughout the United States, including appearances at Carnegie’s Weil Hall, Ravinia Festival, Poisson Rouge, LACMA, Lane Concert Series, University of Chicago, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, Music in the Loft, and in Springfield, Illinois, where the trio was chosen to celebrate the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial celebration with President Barack Obama. Internationally the trio has performed in Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and most recently a 5-city tour of Colombia.
Staunch proponents of music education, the Lincoln Trio has had residencies at San Francisco State University, University of Wisconsin Madison, and SUNY Fredonia. They are currently ensemble-in-residence at the Merit School of Music.
Their recording of “Annelies” received a 2014 Grammy Award nomination, and their most recent CD “Trios from our Homelands” was nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award in the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance Category.
