Featuring the Luciano Antonio Trio
Barrington’s White House is delighted to launch our partnership with the renowned Old Town School of Folk Music with a performance by the Luciano Antonio Trio. This inaugural concert brings the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Brazil to Downtown Barrington.
Brazilian guitarist, vocalist, and composer Luciano Antonio leads his trio on a musical journey through Brazil, presenting a rich tapestry of Brazilian compositions alongside his original works. Born into a musical family in Iretama, Paraná, Brazil, Luciano’s passion for Brazilian folk and Bossa Nova shines through in his performances. His melodious voice and intricate guitar work have made him a standout in Chicago’s vibrant music scene.
Founded in 1957, the famed Old Town School of Folk Music has been a cornerstone of Chicago’s cultural landscape, offering a diverse array of music and dance programs that celebrate global traditions. The school has featured a veritable who’s who of legendary artists, including Pete Seeger, Mahalia Jackson, Big Bill Broonzy, John Prine, and Keb Mo, to name a few.
Old Town School’s mission to teach and preserve the music of diverse communities aligns perfectly with the BWH commitment to bring world-class artists to Barrington.
Join us for an afternoon that promises to transport you to the heart of Brazil, celebrating the rhythms and stories that make its music so captivating.
