Swing Time: Jazz-Age Art in the U.S. and Europe
August 17, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Artists of the 1910s and 1920s began to exhibit an auditory sensation in their work that defined their art. The likely influence? A new form of music called jazz. Nanette Luarca-Shoaf, Associate Curator of the Art Institute, will explore a range of artistic media and approaches to making this music visible. We will gather at 10:15am, the lecture begins at 11:00am, and lunch is served at Francesca’s Restaurant at 12:30pm
Reservations are required by August 14th
To reserve your spot call Emma Gerosa 1-847-540-1103.
Admission is for Art Institute members and nonmembers. Tickets are $40 each. Lunch is included.
