A self-taught artist born and raised in Chicago, now living in McHenry, Illinois, Dave Alton’s work bridges the vibrant cultural influences of his upbringing with the unique perspective developed over years. His work is primarily in acrylic and crayon, focusing on figurative subjects, often exploring the dynamic interplay between black and white with selective bursts of color to amplify the overall concept.
Dave has exhibited his work in galleries across Chicago, Portland, and Seattle. He also enjoys connecting with local communities, participating in exhibitions and art shows in Chicago, Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Harvard, and Barrington.
Join us on the third Thursday of each month for an evening of art, conversation, and community at Barrington’s White House. These salon-style exhibitions feature local and regional artists in our elegant first-floor gathering spaces. Enjoy engaging with the artwork and the artists themselves, with a cash bar available throughout the evening. Admission is free.
