Vadim Gluzman, recipient of the Stradivari Society of Chicago, played the extraordinary 1690 Stradivari violin which is on an extended loan to him through the generous efforts of the Society, at Barrington’s White House in the Ballroom.
This private event was hosted by Mrs. Mary Galvin, founder of the Stradivari Society of Chicago.
Mr. Gluzman’s extraordinary artistry brings to life the glorious violin tradition of the 19th and 20th centuries. Appearing around the world with major orchestras, he has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston and Chicago Symphonies, Cleveland Orchestra, London Symphony, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
A private dinner reception was held after the concert in the dining room of Barrington’s White House. The event was catered by Wild Asparagus. (Photography by Susan McConnell)
