A little more about Bella Voce Camerata:
Bella Voce Camerata, whom the Chicago Tribune described as “finely calibrated, with subtle variations in color,” will take you on a journey of Renaissance Christmas songs and motets. The Bella Voce Camerata was founded in 2014 as a vehicle to perform some of the great trove of works written for small vocal chamber ensembles. Among these intimate works are rare gems and extraordinary pieces, which they passionately share with their audiences.
At its inaugural performance in 2014, the Camerata performed David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize–winning oratorio The Little Match Girl Passion along with excerpts from Dieterich Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri. Other programs have included the works of Arvo Pärt, J.S. Bach, and Henry Purcell, as well as curated programs such as “Sweet Lovers Love the Spring: Music Inspired by the Poetry of Shakespeare,” “A Renaissance Christmas,” and “Six Centuries of Love Songs.” The Camerata has appeared twice on “Live from WFMT.”
