Barrington’s White House Vendor Partner – Mayfield Flowers

Barrington's White HouseVendor Partner

Sisters Keely Sindler and Marcy White partnered up to create Mayfield Flowers, a modern and sophisticated floral company that specializes in weddings and private events. Their creations have been featured at Barrington’s White House on numerous occasions, and they have been serving the Barrington area for over 15 years.

What’s the best part about providing flowers for weddings?  The best part is the opportunity to be a part of and  witness special moments between loved ones. Moments between the bride and groom, or the bride and her mother are so moving. We love seeing sentimental touches, like including lilies in the bride’s bouquet because they were her grandmother’s favorite flower. Moments like hiding behind a cloth curtain during a wedding ceremony, trying to stay silent while holding back tears from the groom’s vows. We are passionate about our jobs because of those moments.

What’s trending right now in flowers for events?  Color trends right now are neutrals, blush and dark burgundy/Marsala. The trending floral style is very natural and loose with a lot of greenery. We’re not seeing a lot of round arrangements. Instead we’re seeing a lot of movement and texture. Trending flowers include burgundy peonies, blush ranunculus, quicksand roses, and olive branch.

How does the venue influence the floral decorations?  Every venue has unique features, and we love to play them up. For example, the unique woodwork at Barrington’s White House influences our designs. We love incorporating and decorating the staircase and mantel. Both are perfect for statement pieces.

What are some trends you might suggest for Barrington’s White House?  The deep colored wood at Barrington’s White House goes so well with the natural-and-greenery style trend. The fireplace and staircase are great spots to feature these

gorgeous looks. What are some things people can do with their flowers after their event? Everyone loves flowers, so we always suggest giving them away. Pass them out to guests at the end of the night, “flower bomb” strangers or donate them.

What is your favorite part about working at Barrington’s White House?  It’s the people. We love working with the staff and whole crew at Barrington White House. Their professionalism and attitude set the tone for the event.

What’s your best wedding story?  There are so many it’s hard to choose! A few years ago, one of our grooms called us a month before the wedding asking if we could somehow include white butterflies into the floral arrangements down the aisle during the ceremony. Throughout the wedding planning process, at significant moments, the bride and groom continually came across white butterflies. The bride had this strong feeling that the white butterflies were her late father. We were able to include white butterflies in the aisle décor so the bride’s father could still be present to help walk her down the aisle.
