Soprano Raquel González, praised for her “powerful soprano” (New York Times) and “dominating presence” (Opera News), joins pianist Carol Wong for an afternoon of song celebrating the depth and diversity of American music. Their program, American Song and
Spirit, explores the rich legacy of American composers, blending beloved classics with contemporary works that reflect the nation’s cultural voice.
A former Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist at Washington National Opera, González has performed leading roles with companies including the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Santa Fe Opera, earning acclaim for her expressive artistry and commanding stage presence. Pianist Carol Wong’s, extraordinary career has taken her to iconic stages such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and international festivals across Italy, Germany, and Peru. Join Raquel and Carol for a meet and greet following the performance.
