It’s always been very important for the Northern Trust to be a part of the communities we serve and we enjoy being one of the lead sponsors of Barrington’s White House as we set an example for others to become sponsors.

There are four primary reasons why we think the Barrington White House Project is important. First, this house represents a sense of history for the Barrington Community and ties Barrington’s past to its future.   There aren’t a lot of communities that have a history as deep as Barrington’s. Second, Barrington’s White House will be a gathering place for the whole community for many years to come. Third, the architecture of Barrington’s White House represents a beautiful piece of art for the community. And, finally, Barrington’s White House will support nonprofits on the second floor which, in turn, will support the community. We like that full circle approach.

This year, the Northern Trust is celebrating its 125th anniversary of helping people in the Chicago area, nation wide and now world wide, and we look forward to helping Barrington celebrate its 150th anniversary next year.  This gives us an opportunity to celebrate our 125th and Barrington’s 150th together.  We’re quite excited to be able to be a part of this.  Northern Trust has committed $100,000, over four years to this project.
